Stacey Zis

Stacey Zis joined NCHEMS in January 2006 as a Research Associate. Prior to her position at NCHEMS, she worked as a Policy Analyst for the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education in San José, California. At the National Center, she was part of the team effort for Measuring Up 2002 and Measuring Up 2004—The State-by-State Report Card on Higher Education. While with NCHEMS, she continued her work with Measuring Up 2006.  For Measuring Up 2008, she acted as the project coordinator, managed the quality control process, and co-authored the report.  Stacey is involved in many other projects and has co-authored reports including the Center for State Policy on Student Progression (C2SP) project and the update to the publication Good Policy Good Practice both funded by Lumina.

Although she currently works in policy analysis and research, she has a strong background and solid experience in student affairs and academic affairs administration at various institutions including Springfield College, Roanoke College, Virginia Tech, and San José State University.

Stacey holds an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech, a Master of Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Counseling and Student Personnel from Springfield College in Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Science in Management from SUNY-Binghamton.
