Matthew Crellin

Matthew A. Crellin is a Research Associate at the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems (NCHEMS). Matt works on many projects applying policy analysis and quantitative research methods to issues in higher education. Prior to joining NCHEMS in June 2011, Matt worked as the Director of Policy and Research for the New England Board of Higher Education, a six-state congressionally-authorized collaborative of the New England states to conduct research and analysis on college success and completion, productivity, finance, college readiness, and coordinated several reports to support higher education in the region. Prior to working for NEBHE, Matt worked with the Harvard Kennedy School's Center for Public Leadership for the Gleitsman Program in Leadership and Social Change. Matt also possesses additional background and experience working in student affairs and with gifted students through the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth.

Matt holds a Master of Education (Ed.M.) degree from Harvard University, completing his degree at the Harvard Graduate School of Education concentrating in higher education with additional coursework in the leadership and decision sciences at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. His undergraduate studies were completed at Saint Joseph's College of Maine. His areas of specialization and interest include statistical methodology, public leadership, college completion, higher education finance, policy analysis, and governance.
